The Women of Brukman

Runtime: 90 minutes

On the 18th of December, 2001 the female workers of a men’s clothing manufacturing plant in Buenos Aires decide to occupy and self-manage the factory abandonned by it’s owners.

We have followed these women during the 5 years of this challenging test trial and at the same time, bring to light the most poignant moments of the battle which led them into their current situation, revealing their fears,sacrifices, solidarity.... Celia, a women in her fourties who emerged as the natural leader of this worker’s movement is our main protagonist.

The film show that this experience of self-management is much more than an administrative experience: for Celia and her workmates, it is a school of citizenship that has changed their life for ever.
